Losing Weight without a Hunger Strike

As soon as someone comes to know they have to lose weight to become healthy, the first thing that comes to their mind is giving up on food. They tend to think they have to boycott every solid form of food, as breathing near a delicacy can trigger their weight. However, this is far from the truth. You don’t have to go on a hunger strike to attain a healthy body; it is about what you eat when you eat, and how much you eat that matters.

Effects of Hunger Strike on a Human Body

The human body needs proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and the required calories daily to function properly. If your body lacks the right amount of these basic necessities, it could have harmful effects not only on your physical body but also on your mental health.

Your health could start deteriorating to the point where you may become too thin and weak. As a result, you may experience trouble focusing on your daily chores. The most trivial things will tire you easily, and you will end up looking lost and out-of-sorts as if you don’t belong anywhere. This is because your body is being deprived of the nutrients it needs to function properly.

· Calorie Intake

The human body requires around 1200 calories daily to operate without any trouble. Any less than that and your brain stops functioning properly. The connection between your brain and other organs falters, making it difficult for you to concentrate on the task at hand.

If you are someone who goes out for a walk or jog, or any other form of physical exercise, you need to consume more than 1200 calories. Your body exerts itself; therefore, compensation is required to maintain the equilibrium.

· Sugar Intake

Your refined sugar intake contributes greatly to your weight loss journey. If you want to lose weight, you should watch out for sugar as it enables you to gain weight quickly. Most often than not, your dinner has quite a variety of sugar content that is hard to resist. However, people who vow to lose weight tend to skip their dinner altogether for a slimmer, fitter body.

Instead of skipping the meal, you should consume half of what you usually do. For instance, if you eat two tortillas, you should restrict yourself to one. A hunger strike is not the answer! try some healthy alternatives.

· Muscle Training

Now that you have learned that losing weight does not require you to give up on food entirely, it is time to add strength to your muscles. While you decide to embark upon the journey of weight loss, it is essential to exercise and stay fit. Train your muscles to carry weight even when you are on a diet to be thinner. Muscle training tends to build your metabolism and helps increase the fat ratio.

Final Word

As mentioned above, a hunger strike is never the answer. Be evocative of what you consume and how much you consume it. Make a schedule and stick to your diet. You don’t have to give up on food entirely to stay fitter. It will do you more harm than good. The best way is to consult a dietician that can guide you through the process.
