Track Your Keto Progress Using these Apps

The ketogenic diet is complex to follow and maintain as it limits your everyday calorie intake to 60-75% fats, 20% protein, and 5% carbs. The goal is simple – focus on fats and cut down on carbs. However, knowing how many macronutrients you’re consuming can be a challenge, and you may not be consuming enough fats to begin ketone production.

Luckily, there are several free keto diet tracker apps on iOS and Android that will help you track your progress, whether you’re new to the keto diet or if you’ve been following it for a while now.

1.     Carb Manager: Keto Diet App

This free keto tracking application is available on the App Store as well as Google Play. This keto tracking app doesn’t only manage your macronutrient intake, but it also focuses on finer details and tracks the way your body responds to the diet.

You can get information on important keto metrics – macronutrients, ketones, blood sugar levels, etc. You can easily maintain a log of the food you have consumed by scanning the barcode and uploading a picture. Carb Manager can be synced with fitness trackers and allows you to track other habits such as your water intake and your workout routine. However, there are certain drawbacks of this app too. The food database isn’t as extensive as other apps, and the nutrient data may not always be accurate.

2.     MyMacros+

This app comes with a massive database of food, which is an essential part of accurate and precise tracking. The best thing about this app is that your device doesn’t have to be connected to the internet to log food items. The database consists of over 5 million foods including fats and oils  and the built-in feature called “My Circle” allows you to connect with friends on the app in real-time. MyMacros+ comes with a virtual assistant that guides you regarding the food choices you should consume for your body requirements. However, you have to purchase the app and pay a bit extra to unlock all the features. This app also works better on iOS as opposed to Android devices.

3.     Total Keto Diet

This is by far the best app if you’re looking for keto-friendly recipes. Available on both iOS and Android stores, this free app will become your go-to for customising your meal plans. This app informs its users of useful tips that will help them in their keto journey. It also comes with a Weekly Grocery List Creator so you know exactly what to shop for the next time you go grocery shopping. However, some users have expressed their discontent with the app after they updated it. Also, the in-app database has less than a million food items.

If you’re looking for products that can help you on your fitness (and keto) journey, you should check out Vitawerx’s protein milk chocolate-coated macadamia nuts. They’re bound to give you the kick that you need to avoid unhealthy snacking during the day.
